In 1981 George E. and Betty L. Thornhill formed Southwest Building Systems as a sole proprietorship after selling the family Air stream travel trailer and many other assets to take the risk of going into business with an entrepreneurial mindset. George, until his passing in 1999, was completely involved in the
Sales and Management effort. Betty, until her passing in 2015, was the CEO responsible for auditing the Accounting, Finance, and daily operations. Today, after 36 years of business, our company is located at 809 Hwy 327 E. Silsbee, Texas
G. Thornhill Inc. dba Southwest Building Systems became incorporated in 1997 and is overseen by David M. Thornhill. David joined SBS after graduation from Lamar University with a business management degree and two years experience working in the banking industry. In 2006, with 25 years of electronic experience from the ground up, David was promoted by merit to President of SBS. In 2015 David became the CEO/President of SBS.
Brent Thornhill, the Third generation of this companyjoined the team in 2005 to work from the ground up until his graduation from Lamar Institute of Technology in 2008 with a Business Administration degree. Brent currently holds the Business Development Manager position as of 2014, and is excited to continue to propel SBS into the future.
SBS is currently composed of both full time and part time employees, that are over seen by a Board of Directors.
